How You Can Help
Our volunteers are the heart and soul of our services to people in Falmouth who need housing for the winter months. We have four committees which address different aspects of our program. Our members meet each month on the third Monday at St. Barnabas Parish House at 6:00 for updates on our progress and to discuss new ideas. Please join us.
For more information please contact our Volunteer Coordinator – Judy Genge at Jmg48@comcast.net or one of the committee chairs listed below.
The Food Committee works with our residents to plan, purchase and prepare meals at our two rental properties depending on the needs and desires of the residents. Our goal is to encourage independence with a focus on healthy eating. We would like to prepare meals and eat with our guests if they so desire. Contact Sonya Wargo at 508.596.9439 or email@example.com.
The Transportation Committee is a group of dedicated volunteers who provide rides for people who are our guests for the winter months (December through March). Rides are offered week days from 10 – 2 and drivers are asked to sign up for a day that they can be available. Teams of drivers will be set up for each day. Contact Karen Crichton at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Development Committee is an enthusiastic and creative group responsible for raising operating funds for BTEO. We do this in several ways: planning and running awesome fundraising events, writing grants, managing the fundraising campaign for individual donors and working with local businesses and organizations to fund raise on our behalf. Contact Fran Senner-Hurley at 617.416.0602 or email@example.com.
The Communication Committee prepares newsletters, press releases, flyers and other marketing material for our members and for the public in general to spread the word about this valuable program. They are also responsible for maintaining our online presence. Contact Paula Beckerle at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Monetary donations are always appreciated. These contributions help defray the cost of the winter housing and allows us to purchase items that are not donated such as toiletries and cleaning supplies.
